Firmware update: Apple iOS 16.4

Apple has version 16.4 of iOS released. From version 13, iOS is only suitable for the iPhone and the iPads have been given their own OS, the main difference being the extra options to use the larger screen. In iOS 16, which is suitable for the iPhone 8 and later, we find, among other things, a new lock screen with widgets. Furthermore, messages can be edited up to fifteen minutes after sending, tabs in Safari can be shared with others and routes can be planned with multiple stops. This update brings 21 new emojis and includes other improvements, bug fixes, and security updates for your iPhone. This update contains the following improvements and bug fixes:

• 21 new emojis, including animals, hand gestures and objects, are now available on the emoji keyboard
• Added notifications for web apps to the home screen
• Voice isolation for mobile calls prioritizes your voice and blocks out ambient noise
• The Duplicate Photos album in Photos now has support for detecting duplicate photos and videos in a shared iCloud Photo Library
• VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app
• Accessibility setting to automatically dim a video when light flashes or strobe effects are detected
• The Children’s Communication Safety setting gives parents the option to enable alerts for children when they receive or send photos that contain nudity
• Fixed an issue where Request to Buy requests from children might not appear on the parent’s device
• Fixed issues where Matter-compatible thermostats might become unresponsive when paired with Apple Home
• Accident detection optimization on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
