Fire hits office of Stalker 2 developer GSC

There has been a fire at the office of Stalker 2 developer GSC in the Czech capital Prague. No one was injured.

An employee talked about the fire on the publisher’s Discord, reports PC Gamer. The Czech gaming site Vortex also received confirmation of the company that one of the three floors burned out. “We’ve seen worse,” the employees said. “This is fine”, referring to a meme from the comic Gunshow, in which a dog says that while sitting in a room that is on fire.

The consequences for the game are as yet unknown. The release is scheduled for early 2024. Stalker 2, stylized as STALKER 2, was originally supposed to be released in early 2022, but was initially postponed until the end of that year because the Ukrainian developer needed more time. After the war in question broke out, development was temporarily halted and later the game was further postponed to 2023.
