CD Projekt Red Confirms Multiplayer Expansion Coming to Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 will have a multiplayer mode upon release. Developer CD Projekt Red confirms this via Twitter. Earlier, the studio said it was investigating a multiplayer function for the game.

Developer CD Projekt Red reported last month that it wasn’t sure if there would be a multiplayer expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Through Twitter now confirms the developer is working on a multiplayer mode. However, after release, the studio will first focus on the development of free expansions and single player content. Only then is the multiplayer introduced.

Furthermore, the developer says that it is looking for more assistants for the development of the multiplayer expansion. The team working on Cyberpunk 2077 now consists of more than four hundred employees, spread over three different locations.

How the multiplayer mode will function exactly is not yet known. The studio has not revealed an expected release date for the multiplayer expansion. Cyberpunk 2077 itself will be released April 16, 2020 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
