Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 Gets Ranked Mode; Modern Warfare II is getting Gun Fight
Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 will get Ranked and Plunder game modes in a future update. Activision confirms this in a blog post. Additionally, the 2v2 Gun Fight mode will also return to Modern Warfare II multiplayer at a later date.
Infinity Ward has begun work on Season 3 and beyond of Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0. That writes Activision in a blog post on Wednesday following the release of season 2. The company confirms that Warzone 2.0 will get a Ranked mode in a future season. Modern Warfare II recently received a Ranked mode, although it was not present at release. The company says it will also add a Plunder mode to Warzone 2.0 in a future update. That mode, in which players have to collect as much money and loot as possible, was already playable in the original version of Warzone.
Activision also confirms that Modern Warfare II will be back a Gun Fight mode gets. That game mode was introduced in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. In that mode, two teams of two players each compete against each other in a small, mostly symmetrical arena. The game mode was also added to Call of Duty Mobile and Black Ops Cold War, but was missing from Modern Warfare II. Activision isn’t saying exactly when Gun Fight should appear. After that happens, the company says it will introduce new maps for the mode every season.
The game will receive a Season 2 Reloaded update midway through this season. According to the developer, a new 6v6 playing field will be added to the Modern Warfare II multiplayer, among other things. Activision shares an image of that. It shows that the playing field is located in a wellness resort, but the company does not mention any further details about the map.
