Bohemia Interactive has released an early version of Arma Reforger. According to the studio, this is a stepping stone to Arma 4. The game is made with the new Enfusion engine. It is the first time that the military shooter is available on a console.

Developer Bohemia Interactive calls the game a showcase for the Enfusion engine and the future game Arma 4. That game should eventually follow Arma 3 from 2013, but when is unknown.

Arma Reforger is based on the Enfusion engine, which Bohemia will also use for Arma 4. Bohemia provides tools to create mods on the PC. Mods created can also be played on the Xbox version. Bohemia says it wants to introduce the community to the modding tools and gameplay of the new engine in this way.

The shooter takes place on the island of Everon, an area of 51 square kilometers. There are three game modes: Conflict, Capture & Hold and Game Master. The former is a team-versus-team mode and the latter describes Bohemia as a real-time scenario editor.

Bohemia expects Arma Reforger to remain in Early Access for at least a year. During that period, the game will receive three major updates, which will include new weapons, vehicles and gadgets. Arma Reforger is on Steam and is available through the Xbox Game Preview program for the Xbox Series X and S. The game costs 30 euros on all platforms.
