Apple has delayed the new SharePlay functionality for iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and tvOS 15. SharePlay will be removed in the next beta update and will not be part of the official release of the operating systems later this year.

In a message to developers, Apple announces that it will remove SharePlay before the release of iOS 15. The company does not mention a specific reason for delaying SharePlay. However, the intention is that the functionality will come to the new version of Apple’s operating system later this year.

SharePlay lets users watch and listen to media content on Apple devices together. The video and audio are synced between devices, so you can watch or listen to the same thing together remotely. iOS 15 is slated to be released this fall for iPhones, along with iPadOS 15 for iPad.
