AMD has mentioned the Ryzen 8000 series in a roadmap for the first time. The new AM5 CPUs based on Zen 5 architecture should be released in 2024. In addition, the RDNA 3.5 architecture for the GPU is also mentioned for the first time.

The images are according to leakers appeared on a roadmap that during a webcast was shown. The roadmap shows that AMD wants to release its Ryzen 8000 series in 2024. These, just like the current 7000 series, are made for an AM5 socket. Last year it was announced that AMD was working on successors to the 7000 series, which then appeared on a roadmap as ‘Strix Point’ CPUs.

That roadmap already stated that the CPUs would be based on the Zen 5 architecture. According to rumors, that model has a maximum of 16 cores and 32 threads, but that has not yet been confirmed. In addition, AMD talked about the RDNA 3+ architecture for the GPU. The newly leaked roadmap mentions Navi 3.5 as a GPU, which most likely points to the RDNA 3.5 architecture as the successor to the current RDNA 3. This seems to be a relatively small update.

If the roadmap is correct, AMD could release new Ryzen 7000 CPUs later this year, at least with AM5 sockets for the desktop. The roadmap states that Ryzen 7000 CPUs should be released in 2023, while they first came on the market in 2022. The roadmap states that they contain a Navi 3.0 GPU, while the current models have RDNA 2 GPUs. This year, AMD did announce Ryzen 7000 CPUs with RDNA 3.0 GPUs, but they were only for laptops.
