HTC accidentally confirms the existence of the new HTC One with stock Android
HTC has accidentally confirmed the existence of a Google Play edition of the new HTC One. The manufacturer mentions the device in the description of one of its new apps that it has put in the Play Store.
The Gallery app’s description states that “Support for HTC One(M8) Google Play Edition is limited to HTC Photo Editing,” something tweaker Kid_Stevie noted. The HTC One(M8) most likely refers to the new One that HTC will present on Tuesday afternoon.
The manufacturer previously made a Google Play version of its One smartphone from last year. This variant, which is only available in the United States, contains little to no software from HTC and runs on ‘stock Android’. According to previous rumors, the Google Play editions should replace Google’s Nexus line from 2015.
If the specifications of the Google Play edition are the same as those of the regular version, as with the previous One, and if the persistent rumors of recent weeks are to be believed, the device will have a 5″ LCD with full HD display. resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 soc with four Krait processor cores and an Adreno 330 GPU, the phone would also have a full metal housing, stereo speakers on the front and two cameras on the back.
