AOC introduces the I1601P, a portable 15.6″ monitor with full HD resolution and IPS panel, capable of displaying images via USB-C and USB-A. When the display is connected to a USB-A port, the DisplayLink technique is used to display images.

AOC supplies a USB-C to USB-A adapter with DisplayLink support for this. DisplayLink drivers must also be installed before it can be used. These are available for Windows, macOS, Android, ChromeOS and Ubuntu, among others.

The screen has a 15.6″ IPS panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The gray-to-gray response time is 5ms and the brightness is 220cd/m². There are physical buttons to adjust the settings. fit via an osd, but you can also do that via AOC’s i-Menu software.

The portable monitor has an aluminum housing and weighs 800 grams. AOC includes a Smart Cover. This also serves as a stand and the screen can be placed in it both horizontally and vertically.

Previously, AOC released the I1601FWUX with only USB-C support, and the I1659FWUX with USB-A and DisplayLink technology. The new I1601P has similar specifications, but combines both connections. The screen will be released in August for a suggested retail price of 239 euros.
