Patent shows design game controller from Google
A patent pending by Google shows a game controller, which the company may want to use for its yet-to-be-released game streaming service. The patent application shows, among other things, what the controller may look like.
The patent application was put online by the US patent office USPTO, and was filed in October last year by two Google employees. The technology described in the patent is about notifications for activating a game via the controller, but especially interesting are the images that accompany the application; there are a number of sketches that show the hardware itself.
The images may provide a first insight into a game controller from Google. The design also differs little from common game controllers for, for example, PlayStation or Xbox. One of the most striking things is that there seems to be a button for voice control or input.
There have been rumors before that Google is working on its own game streaming service, which it may announce this month. Then the game controller could possibly also be shown, although it is never certain in patent applications whether the technology shown will also be put into practice. Also because a first application by Google was already made in 2015.
