Paul Quinn released beta build 115 of his Quintessential Player yesterday. This audio-focused media player plays mp3, ogg, wav and audio CDs and can also rip the latter. There is also a built-in MP3 encoder and support for streaming audio. In addition, this player is fully skinnable and has an extensive tag editor and CDDB support. Quintessential Player is free and contains no spy or adware. If you really appreciate this program, the maker will really appreciate it if you send him a postcard. It is recommended to remove old versions first and also the media library will have to be rebuilt, because changes have been made to the database. And that will have to happen again later, because the transactional SQLite database, which is coming, is not yet included in this release.
