Pinnacle Systems has a new patch for Studio 8 users released† Studio 8 is used to edit (video) films and possibly encode them so that they can be burned on a CD or DVD. The following changes can be found on the download section of the website:

• Album menus point to wrong directory for Limited Users
• Studio 8 with latest patch didn’t work correctly after Web update
• Some Limited users cannot launch Studio if system has been upgraded from Win98 to XP PRO
• Webcam capture quality setting buttons didn’t work.
• On some projects Studio will not finish creating disk
• Expanded hardware compatibility
• Can now burn VCD/SVCD/DVD with stills
• A/V sync issues fixed for minimally rendered projects with multiple chapters
• Estimated file size for rendering for Make Tape was sometimes too large
• Certain still images could cause a crash when outputting with DC10
• DVD file size calculation was incorrect in some situations
• Frames were sometimes lost during rendering of a VCD clip
• MovieBox DV preview window was black or frozen after switching video source
• Scene detection during DV capture would sometimes hang
