Renders have appeared of new Sony smartphones, which would go through life as the Xperia 10 and the Xperia 10 Plus. It would concern devices that were previously referred to as the XA3 and XA3 Plus.

The renders of the two devices have been put online on WinFuture by telecom journalist Roland Quandt, who regularly manages to retrieve renders of new smartphones. Smartphone Leaker Ishan Agarwal mentions on Twitter the name change of the devices. Also he says to know the prices; the Xperia 10 would cost 349 euros and the 10 Plus model would be priced at 429 euros.

Earlier this month, renders of the small model, then still under the name XA3, appeared. Now, for the first time, the larger version can also be seen, the design of which is the same except for the size. Sony uses a 21:9 screen without a notch and it is striking that the screen edge at the bottom is smaller than at the top. With most smartphones it is the other way around.

According to WinFuture, the large model has a 6.5″ screen and the smaller version a 5.9″ LCD. Both devices would have a resolution of 2560×1080 pixels. The Xperia 10 is said to have a Snapdragon 630-soc, 3GB ram and 64GB flash storage. With the Plus model, that would be a Snapdragon 660-soc and 4GB of ram.

Both devices have a dual camera; the Xperia 10 has a 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. The Xperia 10 Plus gets a better quality primary camera, but a slightly lower 12-megapixel resolution. The secondary camera is the same and is used to simulate a depth of field effect.

Sony will probably announce the smartphones at the Mobile World Congress, which starts February 25 in Barcelona. A new high-end model is therefore expected: the Xperia XZ4.
