Windows RT 8.1 gets Start menu in September
The update for Windows RT 8.1 that Microsoft will release in September includes a start menu and a new lockscreen. Microsoft has confirmed that. Until now, Windows RT users only have a Start screen at their disposal.
Microsoft confirms the start menu in the changed FAQ of Windows 10 on its own site, notes WMPU, among other things. Despite the arrival of a start menu, it will not be an update with Windows 10. As Microsoft mentioned earlier, it will be Windows RT 8.1 Update 3.
The update will come in September and will also bring changes to the lockscreen, Microsoft says in the faq. It is unknown what those changes are. Windows RT is the variant of Windows 8 and 8.1 for ARM processors. The version runs on various tablets, of which the Microsoft Surface 2 and Nokia Lumia 2520 are the best known. It is unknown how many users Windows RT has.
