Acer announces all-in-one with Chrome OS and touchscreen

Acer comes with a Chromebase: an all-in-one desktop system that runs Chrome OS. The computer has a 21.5″ touchscreen and runs on a Tegra K1 soc from Nvidia. The resolution is 1920×1080 pixels.

The full-HD screen of the Acer Chromebase is said to offer viewing angles of 178 degrees. According to Acer, it is the first all-in-one with Chrome OS with a touchscreen. LG already introduced a Chromebase. The Acer model is equipped with a VESA connection for mounting on wall brackets.

The Tegra K1 soc is an ARM-based quad-core with four Cortex A15 cores and another smaller very economical core. The GPU of the soc is a chip based on the Kepler architecture with 192 cuda cores. Acer already used the soc for its Chromebook 13.

The system also has HDMI, USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and support for WiFi-n and Bluetooth 4.0. There are also two 3W speakers and a webcam. The amount of memory and storage capacity are still unknown and the prices and release dates for the Benelux have not yet been announced.
