WhatsApp starts with its own account on WhatsApp for tips and announcements, among other things. That wasn’t there until now. WhatsApp sent a message to an unknown number of users for the first time this week.

The official account has already been seen on iOS and Android, reports WABetaInfo. The account can be recognized by the name WhatsApp and a check mark behind that name. The description also states that it is an official account of the Meta subsidiary.

The first message is a tip on how users can make messages disappear. In other chat apps, developers often also have an official account, often to highlight new features in the app and make announcements. It is unknown when the official WhatsApp account will be available to everyone. The company has not said anything about that yet.
