Ubisoft has shared about 30 minutes of gameplay footage from Skull and Bones in a dev livestream. Earlier this week, the publisher announced that the pirate game will be postponed again and will be released sometime in 2023 or 2024.

In the livestream, narrative director Joel Janisse explains that the player “follows a trail of something that could potentially be interesting and lead to treasure.” During the search for fortunes, a player can count on battles with other ships. Along the way there are investigations to discover, where the player learns more information about the story and the characters through messages in bottles and writings.

Skull and Bones was announced in 2017 and was initially scheduled for release in the fall of 2018. The game has been postponed several times. The pirate game will no longer be released on March 9, 2023, but is expected sometime in the next financial year, which would mean after April this year. A definitive date has not yet been announced. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
