Steelseries has announced a new mouse to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Sensei series. The mouse has a new TrueMove Pro sensor with a maximum cpi of 18,000 and is now for sale for about eighty euros.

The Steelseries Sensei mice are based on the Steelseries Xai, which was released in 2009. That was ten years ago and Steelseries is celebrating this anniversary with the release of the Sensei Ten. Steelseries Sensei mice are known for their ambidextrous design, which allows them to be used by both left and right-handers.

The Sensei Ten uses an optical TrueMove Pro sensor. This sensor was made in collaboration with PixArt, the manufacturer of the high-end PWM3389 sensor, among others. The TrueMove Pro supports a maximum of 18,000cpi, which is equivalent to 18,000dpi. The sensor has a maximum tracking speed of 450 inches per second, a maximum acceleration of 50G and a polling rate of 1000Hz. The manufacturer has also adjusted the sensor in such a way that tilted movements do not lead to incorrect cursor movements.

The mouse has a size of 126x62mm and weighs 92g excluding the cable. The Sensei Ten has a rubber cable that is two meters long and contains two zones with RGB lighting. These LEDs are controlled via Steelseries software. The mouse uses Steelseries’ proprietary mechanical switches that last up to 60 million mouse clicks. The company used to use heavier Huano switches, while some Steelseries mice, such as the Rival 310, have Omron switches. Steelseries has been equipping some mice with its own switches since 2016.

The Sensei Ten is now available in the Steelseries webshop. The mouse may later also be offered in other webshops. The mouse costs 79.99 euros.
