Gamemaker Motive Studios has confirmed that Star Wars: Squadrons will not be getting microtransactions. Also, there are no “constant add-ons” added to the game that players have to pay for. With this, the maker wants to take away concerns from players about the completeness of the game.

Mitch Dyer, who works at Motive Studios on Star Wars: Squadrons, confirmed on Twitter that no microtransactions are processed in the game. He said this in response to a message from Game Informer, where Ian Frazier, who has been appointed creative director at Motive Studios, indicated that the new Star Wars game will not be a ‘live game’.

This means, among other things, that there will be no microtransactions, but also that there are no ‘constant add-ons’ being added to the game that people have to pay for. The idea is that people can play a full game for a price of $ 40, Frazier said. That does not mean that no new content will be added to the game at all.

Star Wars: Squadrons is set to release on October 2 for Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The PC version will be available for purchase on Origin, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. There is crossplay support between all versions. EA showed gameplay footage of the game last week, which aims to see players engage in space battles in the various starfighters of the Star Wars universe, such as X-wings and Tie Fighters.
