Sony has shared new images and details about the upcoming PlayStation 5 controller with accessibility features. The controller is named Access controller. Users can use two at a time or one in combination with the DualSense or DualSense Edge controller.

The upcoming accessibility controller for the PS5 includes interchangeable buttons and stick caps to suit the individual needs of different users. There are four 3.5mm ports to further expand the controller. In addition, the controller can be placed on a table or attached to a tripod.

In the user interface of the PlayStation 5, the button assignments can be adjusted, among other things. It is also possible to create profiles for different games, so that the button assignments match the genre of the game. In addition, there is a toggle mode that functions as a kind of caps lock key. For example, a user would not have to hold down the left stick to make the character run, but instead would only have to press the stick once.

Sony’s Access controller was announced at CES earlier this year as Project Leonardo. For now, nothing has been announced about the price or release date of the accessibility controller. On May 24, Sony will present new information about PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 games during a PlayStation Showcase.
