Marvel is coming up with a film about a ‘new’ superhero: Nova
Nova
The writer of Loki, Michael Waldron, is said to be working on a film by Nova, also known as Richard Rider. The superhero also called Human Rocket was introduced in 1976 by Marv Wolfman and John Buscema. He is often compared to a kind of Spider-Man, as he was a very normal teenager who was chosen by the dying alien Centurion Rhomann Dey to inherit his powers and helmet. He was to become the new cosmic protector. At first Richard has no idea what to do with it, but eventually he does: he flies at extreme speeds, can fire powerful energy beams and learns to use the supercomputer in his helmet properly. In 2025, a new series of comics about Nova was released, namely Nova: Centurion. So it remains to be seen whether the film is mainly about Nova’s older stories, or whether it chooses the newer era. In any case, it is interesting to be introduced to a new character from the Marvel stable in film form. Anyway, first we get Spider-Man, two Avengers films, Vision Quest and a new Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
