Sony has made the Xperia XA1 Plus available. This midrange smartphone from the Japanese manufacturer should distinguish itself with a battery with a relatively large capacity and a camera with a resolution of 23 megapixels.

The 23-megapixel camera in the XA1 Plus probably has the same IMX300 sensor as in the XA1 and the phones from the Sony Xperia Z5 and X series from previous years. The sensor has a size of 1/2.3″ and Sony has put in front of it a 24mm wide-angle lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.0. The front camera is an 8-megapixel one with a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 23mm and a aperture of f/2.0.

The smartphone has a 5.5″ screen with a full HD resolution and runs on a Helio P20 soc from MediaTek, an octacore with four Cortex A53 cores at 2.3GHz and four cores at 1.6GHz, assisted by a Mali T880MP2 GPU.The device has 3 or 4GB RAM and 32GB is available for storage.

There is a physical camera button present. The battery has a capacity of 3430 mAh. There is also a fingerprint scanner; this is on the side. The device is 155 x 75 x 8.7 mm in size, weighs 190 grams and has a plastic housing. The Sony XA1 Plus will be released with Android 7.0 and will be available in black, gold and blue colours. The device is over the counter for 349 euros.

Earlier this year, Sony released the XA1, a smaller version of the XA1 Plus. The XA1 has the same camera and soc, but has a 5″ screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a battery with a capacity of 2300mAh. Sony also released the XA1 Ultra. This has almost entirely the same specifications as the XA1 Plus, but is actually bigger with its 6″ screen.
