Version 0.9.24 of Wine has just been released. Using this program, it is possible to run DOS and Windows programs on POSIX-based operating systems, including Linux, FreeBSD, and Mac OS X. Wine can run DOS and Windows applications by first loading them into a program loader and then forwarding the references to Windows APIs to their Unix and X11 counterparts via proprietary libraries.
