Mike Singer of Singer’s Creations released Weather Watcher 5.6 beta 8 last Sunday and replaced it yesterday with a so-called repack. This program is able to show the weather forecasts of multiple cities. For example, the temperature, humidity and air pressure are displayed. In addition, it is also possible to view various weather and satellite maps. The new version can be downloaded as full installation or if update if you already have a version installed. The following changes have been made:
Weather Watcher 5.6 Beta 8 has been repacked to fix the following problems:
- Fixed problem that was causing the Forecasts Skin to revert to the Classic skin
- Fixed problem that was preventing the tray icon from loading on startup
- Removed the Wind images that were in degrees and added the [WIND DIRECTION IMAGE] forecast tag as a replacement
Weather Watcher 5.6 Beta 8 updates are as follows:
- Added: Animated maps
- Added: “Display wind direction in degrees” checkbox in “Conversion” section of Weather Watcher Options
- Added: Dropdown in “Tray Icon” section of the Weather Watcher Options to select the icon(s) to display in the system tray

- Removed: Observed location from the bottom of the forecasts
- Fixed: Bug that was causing severe weather alert sound to stop looping when another sound was played
- Fixed: Bug that was causing the tray icon tooltip to change to the severe weather alert blurb
- Fixed: Classic skin will be used if selected skin cannot be found
