Software Update: UltraEdit 15.20.0.1022

IDM Computer Solutions has released a new version of its multifunctional text editor UltraEdit. The editor is now at version number 15.20.0.1022. UltraEdit can handle regular ascii text, but also hexadecimal files and html files are no problem. Furthermore, it has features such as macros, vertical block selection, syntax highlighting, a built-in ftp client and spell checker in various languages. In version 15.20, among other things, the undo function has been greatly improved and the performance has been improved when multiple files are opened. Since then, three updates have been released and the following issues have been fixed:

Issues Fixed in 15.20.0.1022:

• Fixed screen jump/positioning problem with Undo/Redo in unmodified files
• Fixed issue where undoing a change in a saved file does not add modified asterisk
• to file tab or file name in title bar
• Fixed UltraEdit hang on Vista64 shutdown (while UltraEdit is still running)
• Fixed issue where configuring template directory actually changes spell directory in INI file
• Fixed some layout issues with child windows and vertical scrollbars
• Fixed issue where auto-complete dialog is not dismissed after pressing CTRL+Z

Fixed column mode undo issue where deleted data is not restored properly

• Improved display of font in Lines Containing Find String dialog
• Removed ClearType rendering from menus if ClearType is not enabled in Windows display settings
• Projects now correctly remember files in split panes
• Sorting file tabs now correctly sorts numeric file names
• Restored behavior of application taking focus when opening files from a different source (eg Windows explorer or a different application)
• Fixed issue where function list doesn’t update when loading file from explorer
• Fixed issue where some operations in very large files cause “Out of Memory” errors
• Fixed Delete Bookmarked Lines command
• Fixed issue where compare of FTP file to local file sometimes fails
