Software Update: Total Commander 8.00 Beta 2

Spread the love

Christian Ghisler has released the second public beta release of version 8.00 of Total Commander. This program can be used as a replacement for Windows Explorer. Splitting the image in half makes it easy to copy files, but the program can do much more. There are various ways to modify files, there is a built-in ftp client and a multi-rename tool and there is support for a large number of compression formats. Furthermore, the functionality can be extended with plugins† The most important change in version 8.00 is that a separate 64-bit version is now also available. The complete changelog is here to find, this is the announcement of this release:

Total Commander 8.0 beta 2 is available now!

what’s new?
Beta 2 only correct bugs.

Total Commander 8.0 is the first version available in both 32-bit and 64-bit. Currently there aren’t many 64-bit plugins yet – I will publish them when they become available. Therefore you should keep the 32-bit version for the moment if you use plugins regularly.

A list of additions and corrections, also for previous versions, can be found in the history file

As usual, the update is free for all registered users.
