Software Update: Skype for Mac OS X 1.4.0.35
Over a week ago, Skype released a new version of its VoIP program of the same name in the Mac OS X flavor. It was updated a few days ago, but the version number does not seem to have increased. Since we didn’t discuss the first release here in the muck tracker, we’ll grab it for you now. With Skype, you can talk to other users of this program for free. A subscription can also be taken out (SkypeOut), so that calls to fixed, mobile and foreign numbers are possible. Compared to 1.4.0.33 beta, only minor cosmetic changes have been made, and the Japanese localization has been improved. If we interpret the changelog correctly, that Japanese localization was actually included in the second attempt:
09.01.2006 Skype for Mac OS X version 1.4.0.35
- update: Japanese localization now included.
05.01.2006 Skype for Mac OS X version 1.4.0.35
- improvement: minor cosmetic changes
- improvement: more fully localized to Japanese
- bugfix: calls directed to voicemail sometimes caused glitches in the call drawer
