Download PuTTY 0.62 Beta
A new beta release of PuTTY has been released, version 0.62. PuTTY is one of the most popular telnet and ssh clients, which makes it possible to remotely manage a computer over a secure connection. Originally, the program was only available for Windows, but now there are also clients for the various Unix platforms. In version 0.62 we find several bug fixes and a solution for a security issue.
Security fix:
- PuTTY no longer retains passwords in memory by mistake.
bug fix:
- Pageant now talks to both new-style clients (0.61 and above) and old-style (0.60 and below).
- PuTTY no longer prints a spurious “Access denied” message when GSSAPI authentication fails.
- PSCP and PSFTP now honor nonstandard port numbers in SSH saved sessions.
- Pageant no longer leaks a file handle when an authentication fails.
- PuTTYtel no longer crashes when saving a session.
- PuTTY now draws underlines under the underlined text instead of sometimes putting them somewhere off to the right.
- PuTTY now should not draw VT100 line drawing characters at the wrong vertical offset.
