Software update: OpenRCT2 0.0.6

You wouldn’t tell by the version number, but the fifth stable release of OpenRCT2 has been released. OpenRCT2 is the open source version of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. The project tries to resemble the original as much as possible, but is written in a modern language which allows for extensions and improvements. It is similar to, for example, OpenTTD. In order to play it, it is necessary to have the original game, because it needs, among other things, the images. The changelog for this release shows the following changes and improvements:

New:

  • [#3355] Allow loading of parks from URLs.
  • [#4673] Add paint Z clipping.
  • [#4901] Allow entertainers’ costume changes even in absence of required scenery.
  • [#4916] FreeBSD support.
  • [#4963] Add boosters (from RCT1 and RCTC).
  • [#5113] Entertainers are now hired with a random costume.

improved:

  • [#4847] Guest/staff pathfinding.
  • [#4938] Checksum calculations speeded up.
  • [#5007] Vehicles and functioning rides are now imported when loading SC4 / SV4 parks.
  • Guests and staff are now imported when loading SC4 / SV4 parks.

Fixed:

  • [#4571] Only start autosave timer after update or game command.
  • [#4584] Junior Coaster diagonal flat-to-steep slopes not drawn.
  • [#4929] Changing TTF language crashes game.
  • [#4944] Game crashes upon selecting objects in scenario editor.
  • [#4951] Scenarios are not recorded as completed from a saved game.
  • [#4968] Completing a scenario does not save the name that is entered.
  • [#4996] Objects unloaded after loading landscape.
  • [#5003] Able to remove entrance/exit of unedittable rides (such as in Volcania).
  • [#5096] Failure to open parks with out of bounds sprite coordinates.
  • [#5114] Some entertainer costumes never selectable.
