Version 9.0 of Mozilla Firefox has been released. Today, Mozilla releases a new stable version of the web browser every six weeks. New in 9.0 include JavaScript performance and improved support for the HTML5, MathML, and CSS standards. In addition, two-finger swipes are now possible in Mac OS X Lion and Firefox can handle themes better there too. Below is an overview of the most important improvements that we find in version 9.0:
The latest version of Firefox has the following changes:
- Added Type Inferencesignificantly improving JavaScript performance
- Improved theme integration for Mac OS X Lion
- Added two finger swipe navigation for Mac OS X Lion
- Added support for querying Do Not Track status via JavaScript
- Added support for font-stretch
- Improved support for text overflow
- Improved standards support for HTML5, MathML, and CSS
- Fixed several stability issues
