Software Update: Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8.00.00.100305 Beta

Microsoft released a new beta version of its Microsoft Messenger for Mac a few days ago. This allows you to use the MSN network to exchange messages with others. You can also exchange audio and video messages with users who have a Windows Live account. This release has version number 8.00.00.100305 and ships with the following announcement:

Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8 Beta

Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8 Beta provides real-time collaboration between people in different locations. You can use instant messaging and audio and video calls to communicate with your contacts.

You can sign in to Messenger for Mac 8 Beta by using a Windows Live ID. Windows Live IDs include all email accounts ending in “@live.com”, “@hotmail.com”, “@msn.com” and other accounts registered with Windows Live.

Customers with an account on a corporate network that uses Office Communications Server should continue to use Messenger for Mac 7. The Messenger for Mac 8 Beta is for personal accounts using the Windows Live Network.

Note: Messenger Help, accessed from the Help menu, has not been updated to include the latest content.
