Software Update: Max 0.5.5
Max is an application for the Mac OS X platform that allows you to convert a music CD into audio files in MP3, FLAC or Ogg Vorbis format. It uses, among other things, the encoders LAME, libVorbis, libFLAC and Core Audio to compress the music and it can fill in the artist and titles for you with the help of FreeDB. Stephen has released version 0.5.5 with the following changes:
New features:
- Improved metadata handling for FLAC and Ogg Vorbis
- Added ability to set LAME stereo mode
- universal binary
bug fixes:
- Lowercase FLAC tags now handled correctly
Known issues:
- Enhanced audio CDs cause Max to crash
- Not all output formats are tagged with metadata
- FLAC cue sheets are not handled on conversion
