Software Update: Malwarebytes 4.1.2.73

Spread the love

Malwarebytes has released an update to its anti-virus program of the same name. This program is aimed at fighting malware, such as malicious software that pretends to be a bona fide antivirus or antispyware solution, but in reality has less good intentions, such as ransom- or scareware. In addition to the free version, there is a paid variant, which offers additional functionality, including real-time protection.

In addition to a new look, version 4.0 includes an improved detection engine. That was necessary too, because Malwarebytes 3 scored not too good more in the tests. Furthermore, the performance of the program and the speed of the scan have also been improved and only Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 are supported. Version 4.1 also adds a dark mode, and improved detection and performance. Finally, this update also brings the following improvements:

New:

  • Improved performance for remediation
  • Enhanced upgrading capabilities
  • Enhanced exploit protection

Addressed:

  • Fixed: Fail to launch after reboot for installation/upgrade under certain circumstances
  • Fixed: Dashboard buttons active behind open pages
  • Fixed: MBAM UI does not open under certain circumstances, file missing (wlanapi.dll)
  • Fixed: Increased memory usage of MBAMSERVICE on win10x64 under certain circumstances
  • Fixed: additional MWAC BSODs under certain circumstances
  • Fixed: Several additional Issues relating to upgrading to 4.1
