Software Update: LAV Filters 0.75.1

Version 0.75.1 of the LAV Filters has been released. The LAV Filters are a collection of open source DirectShow filters that allow the most common formats of audio and video to be played in a media player of your choice. It is part of the K-Lite Codec Pack and the Combined Community Codec Pack, among others. In addition, there are also media players that already have it on board, such as Media Player Classic – Home Cinema and VLC Media Player. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

LAV Splitter

  • Changed: AV1 files with no extradata will now generate a format header with stream information for decoders to use
  • Fixed: Improved stream selection when multiple “default” video tracks are present

LAV Videos

  • Changed: Updated dav1d for significant improvements in AV1 10-bit decoding performance
  • Changed: AV1 hardware decoding will more reliably engage when provided with additional stream information from the demuxer

LAV Audio

  • Fixed: Opus decoding had audible artifacts in some files in 0.75
