Download Geforce Tweak Utility 3.1.2

Anonymous: 35663 writes that a new version of the video card tweak program “Geforce Tweak Utility” can be downloaded on the Guru3d site. Unfortunately Guru3d’s MySQL server is temporarily down, but nevertheless the release notes are still there:

version 3.1.2:

• added information box that popps up when you try to start multiple instances of the GTU
• new disclaimer
• resized GTU window
• changed Direct3D settings layout
• added support for negative D3D LevelOfDetail values
• Enhanced Anisotropic4tap setting
• added a lot of “quickhelp” / tooltip information (The text that appears in the statusbar when you move the mouse over a setting)
• Bugfix at W-Buffer scaling: With GTU ver 3.1.1 it could set itself to zero
• added OpenGL PreRenderLimit setting (“Render no more frames ahead than”)
• changed OpenGL layout
• added DirectX Texture Format settings
• renamed ZCullEnable setting to “Enable Z-Occlusion-Culling” (only visible with driver version between 20.xx and 22.xx)
• removed a layout bug that appeared with the Expert Mode
• removed “Enable alternate depth buffering technique” setting because this only was a fake setting…why didn’t I notice that before?? Otherwise…some days ago I got a hint that it is not a fake setting, so stay tuned for the next beta to see if the setting appeares again in the GTU or not.
• fixed FSAAForceEnable setting (it was showing “on” as off and “off” as on with 23.11 drivers)
• bugfixed VSYNC setting with 23.11 driver
• bugfixed ValidateZMethod setting (drivers below 21.xx)
• Made the GTU (or better: the new layout) compatible with
• driver versions between 5.xx and the latest (23.xx) drivers
• Disabled Level 4 & 8 Anisotropy (32 and 64 tap) on all cards below GF3
• changed text for Anisotropy
• new updated “Links & Disclaimer” tab
• modified FSAA settings a bit to allow Quinqunx FSAA with GF3’s by default
• I just noticed the GTU didn’t modify VSync correctly with the 23.xx driver
• fixed wrong LODBiasAdjust algorithm
