Emsisoft, known for its consumer security programs Anti-Malware and Online Armor, has released a new version of Emergency Kit. This free download of about 140MB contains a collection of programs that can clean an infected computer without having to install them first. The program does mark many files as suspicious, but the user can indicate what should be deleted or quarantined. For suspicious programs that it does not know, the program asks permission to send them for analysis. Below is the changelog for this release:

  • Added a warning message when the scanner is closed during an active scan.
  • Wrong behavior on malware removal during system reboot fixed.
  • Minor localization error fixed.
  • Minor GUI bug on scanned objects with very long file paths fixed.
