Today a new edition of Central Brain Identifier has been released with version number 8.3.6.3 build 0818 R3. This program can identify the exact model and type of processor of an AMD equipped computer. CBId displays detailed information such as core name, revision and voltage, frequency, rating, cache size and PowerNow technology used. In addition, it is also able to make some tweaks to the L1 cache, the Clock Control Register, the memory timings and there is also the possibility to adjust the HyperTransport clock frequency.

However, there is also less good news, because at the same time as this release, Showshock Softnology also announces the end of this program. CBId was originally developed for Amd processors with a K7 architecture. In the years that followed, with the developers’ own research, recognition of all existing AMD processor models and types was added, as well as the possibility to perform various tweaks. That and the fact that the interface is somewhat dated means that a lot of work has to be done to keep the program up-to-date, and the developers have stated that they can no longer afford it.
