Sigma has shown three new autofocus lenses for full-frame cameras, two in the Art series and one in the Sports series. The Art series is a 12-24mm zoom lens and an 85mm prime, and the Sports version is a 500mm telephoto lens.

The prime lens 85mm F1.4 DG HSM Art has been given a more powerful autofocus motor of the Hyper Sonic Motor type, so autofocus speeds should be better. The lens consists of 14 lens elements in 12 groups with the smallest aperture opening at f16. The filter size is 86mm and the lens measures 94.7 x 126.2mm. Weight has not yet been disclosed. The second Art lens is the 12-24mm F4 DG HSM Art with the same more powerful autofocus motor as the 85mm prime. The lens consists of 16 lens elements in 11 groups with an aspherical lens with a diameter of 80 mm. The smallest f-number is 22 and the lens measures 102 x 131.5 mm at a weight of 1.15 kg. The 500 mm F4 DG OS HSM is made of lightweight materials and is dust and splash-proof. For the Nikon mount, Sigma has applied a new type of electromagnetic diaphragm, which means that control over the diaphragm must communicate better with the body. This lens also consists of 16 elements in 11 groups and has a filter size at the back of 46 mm. The device measures 144.8 x 380.3mm and weighs 3.31kg. The Art lenses will be available in late October for $1,199 and $1,599 respectively in Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts. The Sigma 500mm Sports lens will also be available for Canon and Sigma from the end of October and a month later for Nikon and will have a suggested retail price of $5999.
