Samsung seems to be planning to roll out Android 4.4.3 for the Galaxy S5 this month. An update for the Galaxy S4 would also come, already this next month. Android 4.4.3 recently came out for Nexus devices and mainly brings security updates.

This is evident from a roadmap that has come into the hands of Android Geeks. The update for the Galaxy S5, both the version with Snapdragon and Samsung’s own Exynos soc, has passed the test phase and is scheduled for release this month. The Galaxy S4 is also mentioned on the roadmap; it should get Android 4.4.3 next month. This is incidentally the souped-up version of the Galaxy S4 with Snapdragon 800-soc and lte, which carries model number GT-I9506. Whether other models of the Galaxy S4, such as the GT-I9505 and GT-I9500 will also receive the update is not clear, but it is plausible.

At the beginning of this month, Android 4.4.3 came out via an over-the-air update for Google’s Nexus devices. So Samsung follows relatively shortly after the rollout of Google. The distributed update showed that hardly any visual changes have been made. Android 4.4.3 mainly aims to fix security issues and fix some bugs.

If the rumors are correct, the internet giant is working on a new interface for its mobile operating system. Parts of this may be shown during Google I/O, the developer conference to be held on June 25 and 26.
