Samsung has launched a self-repair program for smartphones, TVs and laptops in South Korea. For the time being, this concerns a small number of products. Samsung supplies original parts, repair manuals and tools.

Customers can order the repair kits and parts via the manufacturer’s site, says Samsung. For telephones, this concerns the Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 series. The only laptop in the program is the Galaxy Book Pro 15.6 and the TVs are three models in the UN32N4000 series.

For smartphones, customers can check whether the repair was successful via the Samsung Members app. It is then possible to return the broken parts to Samsung for a refund.

For smartphones, customers can replace the screen, back cover and charging port. Laptops involve more components, including the display, the touchpad and the fingerprint scanner. With TVs it’s all about the screen. Samsung already has a self-repair program via iFixit in other countries.
