Intel’s second-generation Arc graphics cards may get up to twice as many Xe cores as the Arc Alchemist series. So says RedGamingTech. The top model in this Arc Battlemage series would also have a chip surface similar to the Nvidia AD103 from the RTX 4080.

The top model in Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPU series gets twice as many cores as the Intel Arc A770, the current top model among Intel’s desktop video cards. That claims RedGamingTech in a YouTube video. The maximum number of Xe cores would go up to 64, where the current Arc Alchemist top model has 32 of those cores. Such Xe cores each have 16 execution units.

This Battlemage GPU would also get a 256-bit memory bus, an unknown amount of GDDR6 or GDDR6X memory, and 48MB of L2 cache. The GPU would have a chip area similar to that of Nvidia’s AD103 GPU, which is used in the GeForce RTX 4080 and covers 379mm². The Arc Battlemage GPU is produced on TSMC’s 4nm process, according to RedGamingTech, just like Nvidia’s RTX 40 series.

The new Battlemage series should be available no later than the second quarter of next year. The Melville Sound variants for data centers would follow in the second half of 2024. RedGamingTech previously published an alleged roadmap from Intel, which also mentioned a refresh of the Arc Alchemist series. It should appear in the second half of this year. Intel has not yet confirmed its arrival.
