Nvidia is said to be planning to release a GeForce GTX 980 Ti after the summer. It would be a video card with GM200 GPU with all features enabled, just like the Titan X, and with 6GB gddr5. This would be Nvidia’s last high-end video card with single Maxwell GPUs.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti will be released at the end of the summer, SweClockers expects based on information from sources, possibly in September. According to the site, it is a video card with the same GM200-400 GPU as the recently announced Titan X card. Thus, 3072 cudacores are activated and 192 tmu’s and 96 rop’s, while the memory bus is 384 bits wide.

Unlike the Titan X, the GTX 980 Ti would get 6 instead of 12GB gddr5. On the other hand, the core clock and boost clock speeds of 1100MHz and 1200MHz respectively are higher than the 1002MHz and 1089MHz of the Titan X. In addition, the price would be a lot lower than the $999 that Nvidia charges for the Titan X.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti would be Nvidia’s last premium video card with a single GPU based on the Maxwell architecture; then it is the turn of successor Pascal. That architecture will support High Bandwidth Memory and can handle 32GB of memory.
