LG will ask 680 euros for its G7 ThinQ smartphone, reports the German site WinFuture. This would make the top model of the South Korean manufacturer less expensive than alternatives from other manufacturers.

With the lower price, LG would like to offer one of the cheaper high-end smartphones of 2018, WinFuture reports. If the information is correct, the price is also lower than that of the G6 last year, where LG asked 750 euros for release. The price turned out to be flexible: shortly after the release, providers already offered it for 480 euros in combination with a subscription, while the device was available for under 400 euros a few months later.

With a lower price, LG would go against the recent trend of rising phone prices. Almost all manufacturers have actually increased the prices of new high-end models. Samsung is asking 849 euros for the Galaxy S9, while the iPhone 8 cost from 809 euros at release. There is a chance that LG will come with more expensive models later this year. Last year’s most expensive LG phone was the V30 with a suggested retail price of 899 euros.

LG will present the G7 ThinQ at its own event on Wednesday. The manufacturer has already released some information about the device. For example, the device has a 6.1″ LCD with a notch and a resolution of 3120×1440 pixels. Last week a render appeared that shows the device from all sides. The phone is rumored to have a Snapdragon 845 soc from Qualcomm, assisted by 4GB or 6GB of memory Renders show a 3.5mm jack on the bottom, something that less and less high-end smartphones have.On the back is a dual camera and fingerprint scanner.
