Specifications and images have appeared of an upcoming Lenovo Miix 720. The 2-in-1 features a 12″ screen with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and resolution of 2880×1920 pixels. The tablet also comes with a pressure-sensitive pen and a backlit keyboard.

The tablet is equipped with processors from Intel’s Kaby Lake generation. According to WinFuture.de, buyers can choose from a Core i3-7100u running at 2.4GHz, a Core i5-7200u clocked at 2.5GHz, and an i7-7500u clocked at 2.7GHz.

The pci-e-ssd can be supplied in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB variants and the amount of ddr4-ram is four, eight or sixteen gigabytes. There is a 1-megapixel front camera that supports Windows Hello and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The dual-band WiFi module works with 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. The tablet has two speakers, two microphones and a 41Wh battery, which should last eight hours.

There is a USB 3.1 type-c port, a USB 3.0 type-a port and a normal USB 2.0 port for connecting peripherals. The device also has a micro-SD slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet is charged via the USB-C port. WinFuture.de writes that the tablet comes with the ‘Lenovo Active Pen’. A second generation of the pen will also be available at a later date, offering 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Lenovo markets the Miix as a competitor to Microsoft’s Surface line. Both tablets have a kickstand and a keyboard that can be clicked on. The screens are also similar. The Surface Pro 4 has a screen with 2736×1824 pixels and the Miix 720 has a slightly higher resolution with the 2880×1920 screen. The battery of the Surface Pro 4 is smaller, namely 39Wh. In combination with newer components, the Lenovo will therefore probably have a better battery life.

Lenovo has not yet made any official statements about the tablet, so prices and availability are not yet known. The tablet will probably be released in the Benelux, since comparable models, such as the Miix 700, have also appeared in the Benelux.
