Rumor: Apple stopped production of M2 socs and has now limited production

Apple reportedly halted production of M2 socs in January and February, and had about half the number of M1 socs made last year in March. Apple has said before that the laptop market is struggling due to declining demand.

They say they have not supplied the necessary parts for the manufacture of the SOCs at all for production in those months, while deliveries in March are half of what it was with M1 SOCs a year ago.

Apple released several products with an M2 soc last year and this year, including a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro with 13″ screen, Mac mini and various iPad Pro models. In the last months of 2022, there was a decrease in the sales of Macs, which came in at $7.7 billion, down 29 percent, the company says is in line with expectations as redesigned MacBook Pro laptops with M1 Pro and M1 Max processors were introduced and those sales were partly included in the results announced in January 2022.
