Apple is working on an app to make it easier to switch from an iPhone to an Android device, according to a new rumor. This would happen under pressure from providers, who would like to see switching between mobile platforms easier.

It is said to be a ‘simple tool’, the British newspaper The Telegraph reported citing an industry source. The app would allow users to transfer contacts and music to their new smartphone, among other things, while the tool would also search for alternatives in the Play Store for installed iOS apps.

Apple has already put an application in the Play Store for users who want the opposite and want to switch to iOS. It is based on an already existing tool, to which Apple has added its own name and texts. Perhaps the new app will offer something similar.

The iPhone maker would have agreed to make the tool under pressure from mainly European carriers, who are concerned that people will stay on iOS because switching is difficult. Few customers at the carriers are moving away from iOS and moving to Android, according to The Telegraph.
