Remedy: Quantum Break lacks DirectX 12 multi-gpu support
Quantum Break creator Remedy has announced that the game will not have multi-Gpu support. This would depend on the architecture of the engine. The company also announces that it will fix the frame pacing issue in the next update, among other things.
Remedy offered this information to the Quantum Break community in an update. The frame pacing would be due to a rounding error in the refresh rate prediction mode. Other updates include the addition of a shutdown option and the ability to disable the film grain effect. Microsoft will also release a fix for the vsync issue in May by offering the option to disable this feature. In addition, the company is adding support for G-Sync and Freesync.
Remedy further reports that the rendering technique on Windows 10 and Xbox One is the same. That is, if the resolution is set to 1080p, the game builds the image from 720p buffers, which are rendered with 4xmsaa. This was also apparent from an analysis by Digital Foundry. This means that the image is always built up with two thirds of the number of pixels, so that for example 2560×1140 comes to 1706×960.
Earlier it became clear that problems in the Windows version of the game, such as ghosting and slow streaming of textures, cannot be solved. The missing multi-Gpu support was previously discussed in the game Batman: Arkham Knight.
