Razer uses the CES fair in Las Vegas to show a new project that the company is working on. ‘Esther’ is a cushion that can provide haptic feedback in games. The company is also showing a new gaming chair, light bar and USB dock.

Project Esther is a cushion that you can attach to an existing chair using three straps. The cushion contains actuators that use voice coils that provide haptic feedback. The cushion is intended for use in combination with games. In racing games, for example, the cushion could transmit bumps in the road, while in shooters it could let you feel when you are hit in the back.

Whether Razer will actually sell Project Esther is unknown. In recent years, Razer has been showing prototypes of products it is working on more often at CES. For example, in 2023 there was Project Carol, a headrest with built-in surround speakers and haptics, and a year earlier there was Project Sophia, a desk with a PC and a 65″ OLED screen built-in.

The Iskur V2, an improved version of Razer’s Iskur gaming chair, is available in stores. The updated chair has a wider seat and has also been made wider at the shoulders. The backrest can now rotate back 152 degrees instead of the 139 degrees on the Iskur V1. In addition, the adjustable lumbar support has been improved and the chair is now suitable for people up to two meters tall, which was 180 centimeters in the previous generation. The Iskur V2 can be ordered immediately. Razer could not yet tell us the exact price, but it will be 750 or 800 euros.

Razer is also showing the Aether at CES, a light bar that can be attached to the top of a screen. The bar shines down and illuminates your desktop, but also has RGB LEDs on the back. These LEDs can flash in certain colors and patterns. The light bar has support for the Matter protocol, Alexa and Google Home. The Aether will be available in stores from March for 150 euros.

Finally, Razer announced a USB-C dock, in black or silver gray, in the same style as the cases of its Blade laptops. The dock has eleven ports and can charge a connected laptop with up to 85 watts. The dock is compatible with all devices with a USB-C connection and will cost 130 euros.
