PlayStation Network is struggling with account problems

PlayStation Network users report having problems creating new accounts or changing passwords. Sony has confirmed the reports and has been working on a solution for some time.

The problems seem to be related to a malfunctioning e-mail service: Sony announced via its Twitter account that the company is experiencing delayed e-mails, which means that messages for account activations and password changes do not arrive or only arrive much later. . This means, among other things, that new users cannot use the service for the time being. The reports show that the problems probably started on December 24. At the time of writing, Sony has not yet found a solution, and the company asks users are therefore asking for patience.

It’s not the first time PlayStation Network has had problems over Christmas. Last year, the network was down for some time as a result of a DDoS attack, which also hit competitor Xbox Live. Sony then provided compensation.

It’s not just gamers who use PlayStation Network that experience problems during the Christmas season. EA had server problems and that ensures that several games are not playable. According to the company, these problems are now solved.
