Photos show custom GTX 1060 and RX 480 cards from various brands
Several manufacturers have released the first information about their own GTX 1060 cards. Photos of other brands have been leaked and published. There are also new photos of RX 480 video cards.
Asus shows three variants of the GTX 1060 on Facebook. The manufacturer does not yet provide details, but the photo shows that there will be a version in the Rog Strix series with three fans. The Asus GTX 1060 Turbo with blower cooler is probably the cheapest version. There will also be a Dual version with two fans.
Tom’s Hardware has photographed the GTX 1060 Gaming X from MSI and Gigabyte has meanwhile officially announced the arrival of its GTX 1060 G1 Gaming. The announcement was leaked on Thursday.
VideoCardz has published photos of GTX 1060 renditions of Gainward and Galax. The Gainward cards have a modified PCB, of which a version with 4+1 current phases and a variant with 3+1 current phases, as required by Nvidia’s reference design. Galax comes with no fewer than five versions, with different clock speeds and coolers. The two fastest versions have two six-pin connectors.
Furthermore, there are images and photos of the Inno3D GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming OC X2 online. An Nvidia logo can be seen on the pcb, which makes it possible that only the cooler is different from the reference design. The boost speed would be 1784MHz and the memory would run at 2050MHz.
Nvidia announced the GeForce GTX 1060 on Thursday and then announced that the video card will be in stores from July 19. The manufacturer itself will release a ‘Founders Edition’, but that is only available directly from Nvidia, for a suggested retail price of 299 dollars. Manufacturers’ versions start at a suggested retail price of $249 according to Nvidia. Recommended Euro prices have not yet been announced. Converted including VAT, the dollar prices come down to 272 and 327 euros. Prices may be higher at release due to limited availability.
Update 16.55: Nvidia has announced the suggested euro retail price of the GTX 1060. According to the video card maker, prices will start at 279 euros. This is probably the simplest models with a blower cooler. Nvidia sells its own Founders Editon for 319 euros, but it is not delivered in the Benelux.
AMD has already released its RX 480, but variants with a modified design are not yet available. It is also not yet clear from when these will be sold, but more information is now coming out about the custom RX 480s from manufacturers.
MSI Japan has photos of the RX 480 Gaming X on Twitter set. The manufacturer previously showed a teaser of this gpu with TwinFrozr VI cooler, but now there are more photos to see and we also see the pcb and the backplate. MSI uses a pcb that is quite a bit longer than AMD’s reference design. The manufacturer also opts for an eight-pin power plug instead of six-pin. There are six phases present, but the pcb has room for two more. MSI may use the PCB in the future for yet another version with more power phases.
Furthermore, a new photo of the PowerColor RX 480 Red Devil has appeared. It can be seen that the card has a different bracket with a DVI-D connector. According to VideoCardz, the GPU can be overclocked to a clock speed of 1.4GHz. From an earlier photo it was already clear that this card will also have an eight-pin power plug. Asus previously showed a teaser of its RX 480 Strix, but no new information is known about it yet.
